Your board is made to order and delivered in 2–4 weeks; tracked U.S. delivery is included. Before pressing, you approve a production proof. If the finished board arrives damaged, flawed, or different from that proof, we replace or refund it at our cost. Personalised pieces cannot be returned for a change of mind.

Brass type, gold foil, one firm pull. Initials in the corner of the lid, or the family name across the centre. Both are pressed by hand, and both are included in the price.

Why we make these
It started in our grandfather’s den.
Wood panelling, one good lamp, and a board that lived on the table like it paid rent. You were invited in when you were old enough to lose gracefully. Five thousand years of this game, and that room is still the best way anyone has found to play it — every board we make is an attempt to give your family the same one.

An object you leave out.
Shut, it is the size of a slim briefcase: roughly 17 by 10½ inches and about six pounds. It sits on a desk, a shelf or a coffee table and looks like it belongs there.
How it arrives
Everything, in one box.
It ships in a heavy presentation box, wrapped in tissue, with a cotton dust bag for the shelf and a card sealed in wax. Nothing plastic, nothing to unwrap twice. If it is a gift, you can hand it over exactly as it comes.

Why is the board $249?
The summer batch price is $249, reduced from $329 through 31 August. Personalisation is included. We make fifty to a batch, each one reserved before it exists and made to order in two to four weeks, which is why places are limited rather than stock.
Can I return it?
If it arrives damaged, flawed, or different from the approved proof, we replace or refund it at our cost. Personalised boards cannot be returned for a change of mind, so we ask you to approve the production proof before pressing.
When does it arrive?
Allow 2–4 weeks from order to doorstep. Tracked U.S. delivery is included.
Can I approve the monogram before it is pressed?
Yes. We email a production proof for approval before the monogram is made permanent.
Do you really plant trees?
Ten oaks for every board, planted with our reforestation partner and tallied each quarter. The playing field borrows a little oak, so we return it with interest. It is the least a company named after a den can do.
What size is the board?
Tournament standard. Open on the table it is roughly 21 by 17 inches; closed it is about 17 by 10.5 by 3 inches and near 6 pounds, the footprint of a slim briefcase. Exact figures are printed on the spec card in the box.
Does it come ready to gift?
Every board arrives in a presentation box with a wax-sealed care card. No plastic anywhere. Wrapping it would almost be a shame.
